Woman refusing a loving father to have relationship with his 6 year old daughter?

The mother refuses visitation- hides and has unlisted phone numbers, has moved several times, givin the cops the wrong i.d number. she filed motion against me, to say I abandoned my child, when she has been keeping my daughter from me.her new husband throws a fit each time I try to see my kid. they have never allowed me to see my child not even once. i finally have money for a lawyer to fight this.she is mad at me for not wanting to be with her. There is a whole family who wants to know and love this child. is this a mother who loves and cares for her own child, putting her first? or is this a case of the witch who won't let go of an old grudge and is willing to deny her child extra love to punish someone else?I need help. the lawyer is already on the job. but does she have ground to say I abandoned my child if they have always been hiding from me? is this fair?we were never married.
