Rochester Institute of Technology or Cal Poly San Luis Obispo?
I have been accepted to both of these schools but I am in a stalemate on which to choose. For Rochester, it is in a cold place 20 min from the city of Rochester, the third largest metropolitan city in New York, but from what I have seen, there is not much around the actual college, which I kind of like. They seem to be a decent school with a program where you get a year of paid experience. However, I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I wouldn't mind staying close by, or an easy drive length. As well, I have heard Cal Poly SLO is a good school, one of the best for getting a masters in Computer Science and Engineering and Electrical Engineering (which I want to double major in if possible), but I am not sure if I will like that it is a small town, or that it will be relatively warm. As well, I am not sure if it is the best school to go to if it will be affected by the state budget cuts. However, they are also well known for their internships, are located near Silicon Valley, and would probably be better known by potential employers on the west coast, where I want to live after college. If you have any more information that might help or advice, please let me know. Thank you.
